New features

• Rating items with 1 to 5 stars. A star control on the General tab of the item properties, a Rating column in the grid view, a Rating submenu in the right-click menu, the Ctrl+1–5 and Ctrl+0 shortcuts, and a search filter by rating. See Rating Items (1–5 Stars).
• Dynamic Columns. Build your own grid columns from metadata tokens, stored per catalog. See Dynamic Columns.
• Customizable keyboard shortcuts. A new shortcut engine with a settings page where you can assign, filter and search commands by category.
• Thumbnail background color. Pick the background color used behind thumbnails, useful for transparent PNGs and logos, and apply it to the thumbnails view as well. A Stretch thumbnails toggle was added to the View menu. See Changing the Thumbnail Background Color.
• Quick tag assignment from the right-click menu. See the Tags tab.
• CATVids import for bringing video collections into WinCatalog.

64-bit version

WinCatalog now ships as a 64-bit application only.

• Upgrading from a 32-bit installation reuses the previous folder and cleans up leftover x86 files.
• On 32-bit Windows the installer points you to the correct setup file.
• Fixed pointer-truncation problems affecting disk-image playback and ribbon controls.
• 7z archives are processed by SharpCompress for more reliable extraction.

• Much faster deletion of large numbers of entries, and automatic catalog compacting afterwards.
• Catalog import up to 20 times faster, with a fix for very deep folder trees.
• Faster scanning through single-pass file hashing and quicker folder enumeration.
